About Permanent Makeup

What is Permanent Makeup?

Permanent makeup is a form of cosmetic tattooing where pigment is implanted into the upper layers of the skin. This procedure is gentle and an appropriate beauty treatment for individuals of all ages, skin types, and genders. Although these treatments are described as ‘permanent’, they are in fact ‘semi- permanent’. Treatments are not as invasive as a normal tattoo which is why it may need topping up every 1-3 years. It's a two part procedure, with an initial treatment then a top up 6 weeks later, this is when you'll see the true and final healed results.

Your Consultation

All of my treatments begin with a relaxed, informed consultation where we wull discuss your expectations and what it is you would like to achieve. Consultations are now also offered by video and a patch test will be posted out for the client to carry out.

We will decided which procedure will bwst suit your features, skin tone and lifestyle as well as discuss the process and aftercare.

You will be given the opportunity to ask any questions you may have to ensure you walk away feeling confident that semi-permanent makeup is right for you.

If you decide at the consultation that you would like to schedule an appointment for treatment you will be asked to complete a medical history, consent form prior to the procedure. This will ensure you are suitable for permanent makeup and help identify any medical conditions that may be of concern. A deposit will then be taken to secxure your booking.

It is important to take into consideration the healing process for your chosen treatment when scheduling your appointment.

Procedure

Using conventional makeup I will demonstrate what we are trying to achieve.We will work together to ensure the perfect look for you and only once we are both 100% happy will I go ahead the the procedure. I will take before and after pictures of the treated area.

A topical anaesthetic will be applied to numb the area and make you more comfortable. The initial process will consist of a loght amount of pigment being implanted a few millimetres in depth below the epidermis. This will allow a secondary application of aneasthetic to be applied to the broken skin.

Further passes will be made implanting more pigment to achieve the desired look. Following the treatment some vitamin A&D cream will be applied to keep the area soft and promote healing.

During your initial treatment I will always err on the side of caution as any tweaking of colour or shape can be done at your follow up appointment.

It is important to remember that immediately after the procedure the treated area will appear thicker and darker than the finished healed look and you may have some swelling. You will be given aftercare instructions to follow.

Patch Test

No treatment will be carried out without a patch test being completed at least 12hrs prior to the procedure.

This is very important to ensure you are not allergic to any of the products that will be used which could cause irrepearable damage to your face.

The patch test is very simple and takes just a few seconds. Using a lancet where the skin is pierced the and a small amount of pigment and topical anaesthetic is applied that will be used during the chosen treatment. You should feel nothing more than a slight scratch.

Following our patch test it is important to look out for any reactions. These may include swelling, rashes,irritation, discomfort or hardening beneath the skin. If you notice any of these it is important you call me to discuss.

Makeup to enhance your natural features

Natural hairstrokes

Often referred to as Microblading. It simulates natural hair strokes using a specially designed handheld blade which implants fine strokes of pigment in the same direction as your hair growth.

Powder Brows

This technique uses the specially designed machine to implant either soft or solid shading to give a natural,even colour to the brows. This is perfect for those looking to define shape, thicken brows and correct asymmetries. This is ideal if you use powder or pencil on your brows.

Eyeliner &
Eyelash Enhancement

Eyeliner is a cosmetic tattooing procedure that involves applying pigment along the upper or lower eyelid to create the appearance of more defined eyes.

Eyelash Enhancement is the same process but the pigment is implanted in between the lashes to create the appearance of thicker,darker eyelashes.

Lip Liner/Lip Blush
